Thank Goodness It Is All Over

I am so glad that the holidays are coming to an end, don't get me wrong I really truly enjoy spending time with my family and having the holiday spirit.  But, the holidays really put a strain on my household chores.  We finally got all of our stuff put away and our house back to normal, a week later.
My family had an awesome christmas this year.  We loved everything that we got from Santa.  I got stuff to decorate my bedroom, redoing it in moons, stars and suns.  So exciting.  And for Peanut, she got way more than enough toys.

Meet Me On Monday

Java at Never Growing Old is our host, she asks 5 questions every Monday and we answer.

Questions:
1. What will your Christmas dinner consist of?

2. Do you watch commercials or flip through the channels?

3. How long will you leave your Christmas decorations up?

4. What movie makes you cry every time you watch it?

5. Do you have a Facebook?

Answers:
1) My christmas dinner is going to consist of cornish hens, mashed potatoes and gravy, green bean casserole stuffing and a hot roll for our dinner with my parents, sister and brothers, and the kiddos.

On Christmas Eve we have turkey or ham sandwiches and lots of appetizers. That is when the whole family gets together.

2) I generally watch the commercials if I am in the middle of one of my shows, don't want to miss part of my show from flipping through the channels.  Sometimes, I get up and pick up the house during commercials.

3) I will probably leave them up until the first of the year, but not sure yet.  Depends on my mood honestly.

4) The Titanic, The Notebook...and the list can go on and on

5)Yeah, I have a facebook page.

Play Date

On Friday December 17th, my baby brother (whom is six) came over to my house and played.  Peanut always enjoys when her uncle comes over to play, since she is an only child and doesn't generally have anyone but mommy and daddy to play with.  Little man always wants to come over and play, so I always try to find a day that is good for all of us for him to come over and play.

Little Man, (traci66 son) and peanut playing with her kitchen.  They were having a birthday party for my cats

They really had a blast
After they had their bday party, they decided they were going to play with my guitar
Little Man was really enjoying himself

Peanut and fritz all worn out from a hard day playing, she passed out on the couch with her cat

My daughter and I have been getting ready for Christmas time, and have been spending a lot of quality time together the last few days.  On the 11th of December, we went and saw Santa Clause and we even saw a real live reindeer.  We have been working on getting all of our presents wrapped and let me tell you we aren't getting much done due to my cats messing with everything.  My peanut even had to play in the little bit of snow that has fallen.

Our christmas tree before the cats got a hold of it.
I was so excited that peanut actually sat on Santa's lap this year.
When I asked Peanut if she was going to sit on Santa's lap, she said "I will think about it"

Spook thought we needed help with the wrapping

Cookies With Mrs Clause

Faythe with Mrs. Clause
On th 9th of December, my daughter, my mom's (traci66) son and my niece and nephew went and made cookies with Mrs. Clause.  All the kids really enjoyed it.  I was extremely excited because Faythe actually showed an interest in Mrs. Clause, so I am hoping that she will be excited to see Santa this year.  You see the past few years she has been terrified of Santa.

Faythe decorating her cookies with Mrs. Clause

Not only did they make cookies, the kids also sung Christamas Carols with Mrs. Clause. The adults even joined in.  It was definately a fun filled evening.  Mrs Clause also read three books to the kids.  Faythe was really into the stories.  We thought she was going to climb on Mrs. Clause's lap.

Guardian Angel

My Grandpa, aka my gaurdian angel
I recently came across these little facts about 9/11, and it made me think about my grandpa, aka my guardian angel.  I am not sure everyone has seen this list of coincidinces that is making it around the internet, but I personally found it somewhat inspirational.

The "Little" things
  • As you might know the head of a company survived 9/11 because his son started kindergarten
  • Another fellow is alive because it was HIS turn to buy donuts
  • One women was late because her alarm clock didn't go off on time
  • One was late because of being stuck on the NJ Turnpike
  • One of them missed his bus
  • One spilled food on her clothes and had to take time to change
  • One's car wouldn't start
  • One went back to answer the telephone
  • One had a child that dawdled and didn't get ready as soon as he should have
  • The one that struck me was the man who put on a new pair of shoes that morning, took the various means to get to work, but before he got there, he developed a blister on his foot and he stopped at a drugstore to buy a bandaid, that is why he is alive today
  • Now when I am stuck in traffic, miss an elevator, turn back to answer a ringing telephone...All the little things that annoy me, I think to myself, this is exactly where my guardian angel wants mt to be at  this very moment.
  • Next time your morning seems to be going wrong, the children are slow getting dressed, you can't seem to find the car keys, you hit every traffic light, don't get mad and frustrated; It may be just that someone is watching over you.
Grandpa loved to play guitar

With all of those annoying little things in life, stop and remember your guardian angel and what their possible purpose for these annoying things

The most wonderful man in the world.  I am so glad
he is one of my guardian angels.  Rip Harley Leon Forrester

Its that time of year again

The trees are all bare, with a bunch of leaves on the ground.  Mine are all raked up and placed into piles waiting to be placed in bags.  My house is all winterized, with the plastic on the windows.  The temperature outside is extremely cold.  I am not a big fan of this time of year.  I dislike wearing big bulky winter coats and having to break out the gloves.  If it was my choice it would be 70 degrees all year round.  The only good thing about this time of year is all the holidays.  I love spending time with my family and the holidays are one of the best way to do this.  We get together for thanksgiving and of course Christmas, but my family has some traditions of its own.  Every year we do what we call candy cookie day.  We all get together with the goodies we made and visit.  We also divide up the goodies and make christmas trays for the people in our lives.  I love this day, it is always fun.  We have also started doing a white elephant christmas gift exchange.  Last year was our first year to do this and it was a blast.  So even though this time of year is not my favorite time, I always find ways to make the best of it with my family!!

Newbie to the blog world

Hello, My name is Ashley and I am new to the blog world.  I was introduced to blogging by my mother, Traci66 and my aunt, Heck of a Bunch.  They are both diehard bloggers.  I decided to become a blogger due to the fact that it is a good way to spend your free time and a good way to review new products.
I am a mother of a beautiful three year old who is basically my world.  Not a day goes by where she doesn't amaze me.  She is the joy of my life.
I am a registered nurse and am currently working at a local nursing home.  I really enjoy my job.  I recently was promoted to a nursing supervisor.  It has been quite a journey trying to learn the procedures of my job.  I love the geriatric community.  I am a strong believer of respecting your elders.
